Alexis Greene

Northlore Creative
White Rock, British Columbia
I am multi-faceted storyteller who uses stills, video and written word to explore topics in social justice. Using my background in visual and written media, I am in the process of making a natural progression towards directing. Much of my career has been spent sharing my own battle with bipolar disorder and depression and advocating for an end to the stigma surrounding mental illness.
My more recent work has been focused on the intersection of gender, activism, climate change and conservation. Women in marginalized communities are often disproportionately affected by climate change and, by the same token, are also some of the most important voices in the climate movement and my current focus is gathering funding to provide women within those communities a platform to share their stories with the world in a long-form documentary.

In addition to running my branding and production company, Northlore Creative, I am also the Photo/Video lead at Surfrider Foundation Vancouver and work with other conservation non-profits based on the coast of British Columbia like Sea Smart Foundation and Coextinction. I also do freelance editing and writing consultation, most recently having helped Ben Moon bring his memoir about his dog, Denali to life for Penguin Random House.

When I'm not running around with a camera and a notepad, you can find me climbing, hiking, surfing and being a general forest-dwelling dirtbag in my van with my magical dog Reggie.
